Trial and Development Programme
Individual assessments are available to all who taking part in centre development trials; All that choose to participate will need to arrive two hours prior to the trial start time. You will be put through a series of skill related drills and practices where you will be assessed in each area by one of our UEFA Qualified coaches followed by game related exercises. Read below to apply.
We are looking for talented boys who fall into the 10-under 16 age groups. READ CAREFULLY and support your application with any relevant playing information in the box provided on the application form.
Individual Assessment:
You will need to arrive two hours prior to the trial start time where
you will be put through a series of skill related practices and drills
in passing and receiving, dribbling, shooting heading etc. including
game related exercises. You will be assessed in each area by our team
UEFA qualified coaches.
Trial Games:
You will play against other trialists taking part in assessments on the day
in mixed age groups. Each game will last approximately 20 minutes, during
this time you will be assessed in game awareness, positional skill and
general play. Any player showing outstanding ability in age groups 11 to
17 will be recommended directly to Reading FC Centre of Excellence or
Academy depending on age.
On completion
of your assessment you will receive feedback from our coaches and within
two week period you will be sent your assessment grade highlighting your
achievement level.
Progression and performance centre Players that we feel have the ability but need further development in the 11 to17 age group and can travel will be offered the opportunity of a place on our 8 week progression program. These sessions take place on a Friday evening during school term time at our Hertfordshire development centre in association with Reading F.C. At the end of the 8 week program you will receive feedback on strengths and possible weaknesses that can be improved to take you forward into your future football career. Some may be given the opportunity to stay on the program and progress onto our advanced player programme however, this is by invitation only. Session costs apply.
Important Notes:
If you are under the age of 16 you must get a parent or guardian to
apply for you.
We do not supply accommodation but can recommend local hotels and B&B
subject to availability.
Protec have the right to cancel and rearrange trial dates due to any
adverse weather conditions or any factors outside their control. All
trial assessment fees are non refundable if you fail to attend at the
agreed time and place. Protec reserve the right to offer development
courses to individuals based on their own selection criteria.
Individuals must have a proof of age document with them when attending
trials.
