Rising Stars
Steve Morison
Steve Morison spent two years at Protec before signing for league club Northampton on a two year deal.
He was released and went back into non-league football where he played for then conference side Stevenage Borough.
After two excellent seasons Steve signed a two year professional contract with Millwall. Steve has signed for Norwich City for an undisclosed sum in 2011 which will see his dream of playing in the premiership come true.
Nile Ranger
Protec’s Nile Ranger shows spectacular pace and power. The London born striker impressed at Southampton FC and now delights Newcastle United FC fans with his goal-scoring.
Mark Nwokeji
Mark Nwokeji spent two years at Protec academy and secured a contract with Dagenham and Redbridge.
The striker signed in June 2010 to AFC Wimbledon, having been a target for the Dons on previous occasions. A former England schoolboy 200-metre champion, he began in youth football with Charlton and Colchester. He played for various non-League sides, notably Walton & Hersham, and in 2006 moved to Staines Town, where his 46 goals in 75 appearances caught the attention of Dagenham & Redbridge, who signed him in 2008. A cruciate ligament injury put him out of action for nine months, after which he went on loan to Luton Town.
Derek Asamoa
Derek signed for Northampton town as a pro in 2003, aged 19.
A talented centre forward, he moved to Shrewsbury FC in 2006 and signed for French Club Nice in 2007.
Joe Devera
Joe Devera joined Barnet FC from Protec three years ago. Joe won Barnet's Player of the Year award last season for his consistently excellent performance in defence.
He is good in the air and rarely, if ever, outpaced, having won the title of fastest man at the Club after a series of sprint races at the training ground.
Joe wins challenges on the ground or in the air and then makes good use of the ball out of defence. Joe signed for Swindon in the summer as his career as a professional player continues to inspire others.
Chris Casey
Chris Casey spent a year at Protec and signed to Tottenham Hotspur FC in 2007/2008. The Watford-born defender "enjoys the buzz of doing well and winning games".
Luke Medley
Luke started playing football at school and as he progressed through the Sunday Leagues he started thinking seriously about taking the first step towards a professional football career.
He joined Protec and began to get noticed by football clubs. He was soon offered trials at Watford FC and Reading FC, His third trial was with Tottenham Hotspur FC and after three days he was signed up with a contract.
Nick Salapatas
Protecs Nick Salapatas has signed a professional contract with conference league leaders Stevenage Borough until the end of the season. Nick has also been invited to preseason training with the 1st squad during the summer.
Nick, a flying winger, joined Protec this year as a third year whilst studying at university for a degree. Well done to nick from all at the academy.
Warren McBean
Warren spent three years at Protec before signing for Barnet FC Inventive, skilful striker who loves to run at defenders. Warren’s good form for Barnet at youth level saw him promoted to the first team squad that won the Football Conference Championship in 2005.
He moved to Farnborough Town in search of a starting place, spending a season there before joining Sutton United in October 2006, where he was their leading scorer for each of the last two seasons. Warren then signed for Bromley in June 2008.
Ajet Shehu
Two years ago Londoner Ajet Shehu applied for a National BTEC Sports Course at Southgate College and it was suggested he trial for the Protec Academy due to his football skills.
He got through his trials and was accepted into the Academy. After playing just one game in his position of Centre Half, Ajet was offered trials at three different clubs - Reading FC, Watford FC and Tottenham Hotspur FC.
Ajet signed a two year professional contract with Tottenham and has had a great start to his professional career.
Ben Long
Ben Long signed a 2 year Professional Contract for Scottish Premier League Club Hearts.
Formerly a Protec U18 player, Ben played his part in a recent match for the Hearts U19 side.
Elliot Charles
Elliot spent two years at Protec before he signed to Barnet FC in 2008 with a two year professional contract.
He has already made first team appearances and causes any defence difficulties with his ability in the air and speed off the mark.
Kezie Ibe
Kezie Ibe, 25, was a talented young football player picked up by Arsenal FC from age 11 to 15. Then, like many other young lads, he was release. Disappointed and disillusioned, he dropped out of football for a couple of years.
He was referred to Protec by a friend and at age 17 applied for a place. He was interested in Protec particularly because by this stage he knew how precarious a career in football was and wanted to study as well as play football. His parents thought it was an 'either or' choice of one or the other so Protec was the perfect solution.
Kezie now runs a coaching business.
Former Protec Academy players progressing into first team non league football
Adam Peck
Goalkeeper in the Academy team, and subsequently came through to the first team before transferring to Chipstead FC. Returned to Croydon Athletic this season.
Dan Moody
Dan Moody: Part of successful Academy team, progressed to Croydon Athletic first team, transferring to Chipstead FC and subsequently back to Croydon Athletic.
Danny Waldren
Danny Waldren: Progressed to Croydon Athletic first team, putting in over 150 appearances. Subsequently transferred to Tooting and Mitcham FC.
Nathan Green
Nathan Green: Came through the Academy at Croydon Athletic to the first team before transferring to Lewes in the Conference South.
Tom Bolarinwa
Tom Bolarinwa: Came through the Academy to the Croydon Athletic first team. Was transferred to Bilericay Town, after a spell at Dulwich Hamlet, and then on to Kingstonian, before returning to Croydon Athletic this season.

Went from Croydon Athletic to League football, playing for Crystal Palace, Southampton and Derby County.
Steve Kabba
Progressed through the youth ranks to make a successful football career, playing at Crystal Palace and other league clubs.
Moses Ademola
Croydon Athletic to Brentford FC, currently playing with Woking in the Conference South
Kieron McCann
Following his season for the Academy, Kieron played at Whyteleafe FC and Cray Wanderers, before transferring back to Croydon Athletic this season.
Dan Dudley
From Academy to first team at Croydon Athletic, also played at Chipstead and now part of the Horsham YMCA first team.
Kerry Kedze
Came through the Academy and subsequently transferred to Walton and Hersham, before going to Thamesmead Town in the Ryman Division 1 South.
Zak Henry
Progressed from the Academy to make several appearances for the first team before moving to Horsham YMCA in the Ryman Division 1 South.
Harrison Carnegie
Came through the Academy in 2008/9 and went on to play for Chipstead FC. Currently at Guildford City.
Kieran Ogunola
After leaving the Academy progressed to play for Tooting & Mitcham FC and Leyton FC.
Damien Ramsamy
Came through the Academy in 2010/11 and now playing at Horsham YMCA.
Helge Orome
Has progressed through the Academy to the first team this season.
Cody Best
Progressed through the Academy to make several appearances in the first team 2010/11.
